The Passover Lamb

The Passover Lamb

Some people believe we don’t need the whole Bible, but can toss the Old Testament and keep only the New Testament. They believe the God of the Old Testament was a totally different God from the God of the New Testament. That is false. All scripture is the Word of God, and it is the height of foolishness and arrogance for us to think we can discard the bits we don’t like.

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

The Messiah is written all over the pages of the Old Testament, as we soon discover when we look for Him. As Augustine said so long ago,

“The New is in the Old concealed, and the Old is in the New revealed.”

Amir Tsarfati was born Jewish, and became a believer in the Messiah, Jesus, as an adult. As such, he has a full understanding of the connections between the Old Testament and the New… the old covenant and the new. He has done an outstanding job of showing this in the following two videos.

The first one is shorter, and shows how the Passover lamb was a picture of Jesus, perfect the Lamb of God.

“Communion is deeply rooted in the Jewish culture… The focus has been shifted from the shadow to the substance, and yet we need to understand the shadow in order to grasp the full meaning of the substance.” – Amir Tsarfati

~ The apostle Paul wrote to the Corinthians “For even Christ, our Passover, is sacrificed for us.” What made Him the Passover lamb and why?

This second video is longer, and goes into detail on each item and aspect of the Passover Seder, and how it would have played out during the Last Supper of Jesus with His disciples.

~ Amir’s teaching on Jesus through Jewish eyes, revealing the true meaning of the Old Testament Passover Seder in light of New Testament events.

The Passover is not the only feast of Israel which pointed to the Lord Jesus Christ. Victor Buksbazen wrote a book, The Gospel in the Feasts of Israel, in which he explains this in simple terms.

This weekend, as you ponder the death and resurrection of Jesus the Messiah, may the Lord bless you with a deeper understanding of the sacrifice He made for all who will come to Him.
